Is your job advert the reason the role is still open?
SearchCheck reads a job description and tells you, in under a minute, what in the text puts off the people you are looking for. Free, no commitment, and grounded in what we measure ourselves on the Swiss technology market.
What a job advert actually says to a candidate
On 23 September 2026 we read 109 Swiss technology job adverts one by one. The median advert lists 18 separate requirements. The heaviest quarter lists 24 or more, and the longest in the sample lists 39. Someone already in post, approached every week, does not read 39 conditions.
Only four adverts in ten set aside a section for what they offer. Where that section exists, it comes after 16 points of demands and contains 4. The written balance is therefore sixteen requirements before the first promise.
43 per cent state a required number of years, with a median of four and a quarter of adverts asking for seven or more. On a recent technology, that threshold sometimes describes a person who does not yet exist on the market.
These are our own figures, recorded on 23 September 2026 and published with their method in our market notes. They can be reproduced.
What SearchCheck measures
- A structure index out of 100, broken down dimension by dimension.
- The three costliest frictions in the text, named and explained.
- What is missing, what is overloaded, what stays ambiguous.
- The balance between what the role asks and what it offers.
- A reading of the market around the role.
How it works
- You paste the job description, or drop the file as PDF, Word or plain text.
- The analysis starts and takes under a minute.
- You give your name and your work e-mail address, so you receive the report and can share it internally.
- The result appears on screen, can be shared by link and saved as a PDF.
- Nothing is published: analyses stay out of search engines.
Run the analysis
The analysis is free, takes under a minute and requires no setup. If the text is the problem, you will know straight away. If it is not, that answer is just as useful: the cause then lies in the real size of the talent pool, in compensation, or in competition for the same profile, and that is what the Search Diagnostic measures.
Frequently asked questions
Is SearchCheck really free?
Yes. No card, no subscription, no automated sales follow-up. We ask for your name and work e-mail address so we can send you the report and because we prefer to know who we are answering.
Is my advert made public?
No. Analyses are not indexed by search engines and travel only through the link you choose to pass on.
What is the analysis based on?
On a reading of the text by our analysis tools, and on what we measure ourselves on the Swiss technology market. Our measurements are published with their date, scope and method.
